Dual Degree Biology and Environmental Science
The Dual Degree Program is a collaborative program between 富二代视频app University and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Students receive both a Bachelor of Science in Biology from SU and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a Marine concentration from UMES. The program is strongly focused on analytical environmental science, including coursework in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics. Upper-level courses include study of marine, estuarine, and wetland systems, ecotoxicology, and global-scale environmental science, emphasizing research, scientific writing, and field work.
Program Requirements
To fulfill the program requirements, students complete between 123 and 130 total credits, of which 30 are taken at UMES, usually beginning in the Sophomore year. All registration is handled at SU, and regular tuition covers the entire program. (A $25 lab fee is charged for lab courses at UMES, however.)
Curriculum
Managing the curriculum for the dual degree in order to complete both majors in 4 years requires careful planning, consultation with the student's advisor, and attention to course requirements.
